ABOUT SJA
Our vision
The Student Justice Alliance empowers students to advocate for social justice and equal opportunities in their schools and communities. We fight against the systemic inequalities embedded in the American justice system, ensuring the pillars of justice support every person. Our mission is to challenge the status quo, promote fairness, and create lasting change.
Based in Maryland, the Student Justice Alliance is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to make the justice system more equitable for historically marginalized groups.
Through our Pages for Freedom initiative, we donate books to those incarcerated in detention centers and correctional facilities across Maryland, seeking to reduce recidivism rates, transform prisons into places of rehabilitation, and challenge the especially egregious conditions of Maryland’s prisons.
Through right.ed, we utilize novel solutions like artificial intelligence to bridge the justice gap and deliver critical legal information to underrepresented and marginalized individuals. Through multi-language capability, right.ed breaks down systemic barriers and make the justice system more equitable. With right.ed, everyone is protected under the law.
Through the Panorama Podcast, we present the insights and perspectives of a wide view of experts in a digestible format for the casual listener to the motivated student. We cover topics like criminal justice reform, the drug crisis, book bannings, and immigrant rights.
